The relaxation ( Shavasana) is last session of Yoga or any type of exercise.
It is very necessary to take relaxation after completing Yoga or exercise. It gives the complete rest to the body and mind as well as partly to the brain and heart. During exercise the blood circulation is increased in the body. And all parts of the body release their extra material with them. The overall speed of blood circulation collectively gather all sediment material and send to the destination. This process normally is running but with priority. The aim is whatever gain in the body has to leave out after extracting energy.
In relaxation process, the body free from all tension, exertion and emotion of mind. In relaxation it is to imagine that sensation of the body is being removed and collected at heart. It is to be done to each part of the body, say for left leg from fingers to heart. This process is slow and remembering the names of each intermediate joints and muscles. It is to be done for each organ separately, say for left leg, right leg, left hand, right hand, waist and back, and head with all sensing organs. Once the sensation from all organs are imaginary collected then feeling should be as such, as if the body is completely neutral i.e. died. There should not be any movement of the part of the body.
The mind should be in stable and standstill position. And it should be ordered that Shavasana will continue only for say 20 minutes. It is to be seen that no sound or voice should be there in vicinity. The person doing shavasana will feel very calm and away from his body. He will look at the body as a third person without emotions or thought. If it is not so then he has to bring the state of mind accordingly. This position will occur within 10 to 15 minutes. If shavasana is properly done, minute vibration can be felt from feet to head or fine vibration will feel for 5 to 10 minute. After finishing the Shavasana the feeling of life would be very different and real living of life. It is also one part of Samadhi. Note- The mistakes due to over confidence may be excused.
